Weapons skills can be viewed as an extension of these, although the emphasis is different - for example, long range weapons normally can be used for throws, but are mainly for thrusts, deflection and re-entry, and counter-strikes.
These aspects are traits or understanding which emerge from long terms practice. The beginner should work on improving their skills. Once the skills are working fluidly (ie, without constant effort from the rational mind), it's time to think about the technical aspects.
You have martial spirit when you consciousness is focussed in achieving a result, rather than worrying about the correct or incorrect performance of a skill. The skills are wired in (by long and conscientious training). Capacity means how the skills are further refined after they are wired in.
