The Muddle of Korean Martial Arts

How the diverse collection of techniques managed to end up, in different ways in half a dozen martial arts...

The problem is getting worse in the past decade, as many masters in their fifties are putting together synthetic martial arts under their own banner. The arts may be fine, but they may lack the test of time to prove their real effectiveness, learnability and health aspects. The situation is that new "arts" are emerging as more senior instructors are becoming uncomfortable under former umbrellas (like WTF, ITF, ...). Some of these arts will stand the test of time and some won't

List:

The following arts already have a longer history and contain native Korean, Japanese and Chinese roots:

Hapkido -

Kuk Sul Won -
