These Caterpillars have been found living inside :

  • galls caused by a rust fungus Uromycladium tepperianum ( UREDINALES )

    on various Wattles ( MIMOSACEAE ), including :

  • Silver Wattle ( Acacia dealbata ), and
  • Bark Wattle ( Acacia decurrens ).

    The adult moths have patterned forewings and plain off-white hindwings. Each wing has an extensive hairy fringe to the inner margin. The wingspan is about 1.4 cm.

    The species has been found in southern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania.
