The Caterpillars of this species feed on :

  • various species of Gum Trees ( Eucalyptus, MYRTACEAE ).

    The adult moth has dark brown forewings, rusty brown hindwings, and an orange body. The wingspan of the male is about 8 cms. The female has a wingspan of about 9 cms. The moths have a habit of resting with the head facing downward.

    The species is found in the southern half of Australia, including South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania.
