Lymantria nephrographa

The adult moth is very striking. It has a buff coloured body with three black spots on each segment. The forewings have a pattern of dark brown zig-zag lines on white, and the hind wings are pale brown, often with a dark brown mark in the middle and black dots along the edge. It has a wingspan up to 7 cms.

This species is found in the rainforests of the mid-east coast of Australia, including:

  • New South Wales, and
  • Queensland.
