This Caterpillar has alternating black and white bands along its body, except for a red band by the thorax, and some yellow ones at the end of the abdomen. It grows to a length of about 5 cms.

The adult moth is brown with a yellow diagonal stripe across each wing outlined in black. It has a wingspan of about 7 cms.

The species is found in New Guinea and Australia.
