When young, these caterpillars are brown on top, with a greenish dorsal stripe, and are off-white underneath. Older caterpillars are reddish-brown with some black and white spots along the sides.

The Caterpillars feed on the foliage of :

  • various Gum Trees ( Eucalyptus, MYRTACEAE ).

    The adult moths have streaky brown forewings, and pale hindwings. At rest, the wings are held over the body. The wingspan is about 6 cms.

    Eggs are green and laid in a neat array on the leaf of a foodplant.

    The species is found in south-eastern Australia.
