The adult moth of this species has brown forewings, with a complex light and dark pattern of lines. The hind wings are white shading darker toward the margin.

This species was introduced deliberately into Australia and also Hawaii from the USA in 1957 to control the weed :

  • Lantana ( Lantana camara, VERBENACEAE ).

    It is now an established species in Australia.
