The caterpillars of this species can be a pest on lawns and pastures because they feed on various grases, including:

  • Couch Grass ( Cynodon dactylon, POACEAE ).

    The adult moths have forewings that are pale brown, each with two dark chevrons. The moths have a wingspan of about 1 cm.

    The species has been found in :

  • New Zealand,

    and in Australia in :

  • New South Wales,
  • Norfolk Island,
  • Queensland, and
  • Tasmania.
