These caterpillars are green with narrow yellow stripes. The prolegs are reduced, and the caterpillar moves in a looper fashion. The caterpillars have been found feeding on the foliage and flowers of:

  • Aglaia ( MELIACEAE ),
  • Longan ( Dimocarpus longan, SAPINDACEAE ),
  • Lychee ( Litchi chinensis, SAPINDACEAE ), and
  • Rambutan ( Nephelium lappaceum, SAPINDACEAE ).

The caterpillars pupate in a shelter constructed from a leaf by cutting a piece and folding it over.

The adult moths of this species are pale brown, with a number of darker markings on each wing. The forewings each have a prominent small black circle near the base. The hindwings each have a broad dark band along the costa. The wingspan is about 6 cms.

    The species is found in

  • India,
  • Thailand,
  • across the south Pacific, and in
  • Queensland.
